D.A.D. Parochial Day School Grant

This past summer, the Parochial Day Schools of the Direct Archdiocesan District were afforded the opportunity to submit a proposal to be reviewed by the Chancellor and the Chairman of the District’s Finance Committee for consideration in receiving a portion of the $10,000 grant available to them for the current academic year. This was made possible thanks to the line item that was added by the D.A.D. Clergy-Laity Assembly this past spring to assist the various needs of the District’s Parochial Schools.

Subsequently, four schools submitted grant proposals outlining specific plans for projects they required in order to enhance the educational ministries offered to their students. Therefore, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and the Direct Archdiocesan District, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane together with Mr. Harry Raptakis have awarded the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Day School of Whitestone and the Greek American Institute of New York in the Bronx, with two grants to assist them in the completion of their proposed projects.

It is the hope of the D.A.D. to continue offering this grant for years to come, as a means to contribute to the academic sustainment and improvement of the District’s educational programs, which are integral to our children’s educational, cultural, and spiritual formation.
